Create a website specifically designed for newly weds looking for a honeymoon destination.
User personas are extremely important to develop at the beginning of my design process. Knowing who and why we are creating for is the reason I love to design. In this case, we already know who we are designing for, newly weds. But in order to fulfill their needs, we need to find out what they are.
By creating a profile of a recently married couple, in this case a younger couple around 28-30, we can estimate their income level, their interests, and what each person finds valuable in a honeymoon. ChatGPT was a great help in creating these personas and evaluating their wants and needs. The biggest thing that stood out was their dedication to a healthy lifestyle. That will be useful when deciding how to appeal to our users.
Description
After analyzing my user personas, I will start to build what I believe is the closest feel to their destination honeymoon, Amalfi, Italy. I chose this location because I believed the Amalfi coast of Italy is regarded worldwide as a romantic getaway. The architecture, culture, and landscape is constantly showcased as a lover’s getaway. Fun outdoor activities and delicious authentic Italian food will be the highlight of of the activities offered on the website.
I chose a traditional serif font family with a simple modern layout. Using text only and simple boxes and lines, this pulls of a sophisticated yet trendy look. Using a monochrome background and text, my image style will pop with it’s vibrant colors of the Amalfi landscape.
Here, I detailed the information architecture needed to develop my website. This was the rough sketch before I translated a finer detailed site map in Figma. I marked what exactly needed to be covered on the website and organized it by which page it would pertain to.
This sitemap lays out what I believed would be the most functional and straightforward way to plan a honeymoon in Amalfi, Italy. Including three main pages, the Plan, Explore and Contact page, all that is needed will be within each sub page. Exact details on how to travel, book the hotel and exploring daily activities are found under Plan and Explore, which then link to outside websites that can give local information for that day.
